Peyton Keller Wins Division 1 High Jump State Title

Port Washington High School junior Peyton Keller won the WIAA Division 1 state championship in the high jump this past weekend at the state meet held at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse. Keller cleared 5 feet, 6 inches in a jump-off against Waunakee’s Lainey Chancellor to secure the title. She is the first athlete in Port Washington program history to win a Division 1 state title in the high jump.

The competition concluded with Keller and Chancellor tied at 5-6, requiring a tiebreaking jump-off to determine the champion. Keller’s clearance in the jump-off secured her the top podium position.

In addition to her state title, Keller also placed 7th in the triple jump with a mark of 36 feet, 2.25 inches, breaking her own school record in the event.

Keller’s performance at the state meet adds to a standout junior season and positions her as one of the top returning athletes in Wisconsin heading into her senior year.
